‘Stage Cheonan 2023’, a project to discover and foster startups in Cheonan City, achieved various results and concluded its three-month journey with the ‘Startup Conference’ on the 7th.

Stage Cheonan 2023, hosted by Cheonan City and organized by the Cheonan Science and Industry Promotion Agency, was promoted to provide prospective entrepreneurs and startups with opportunities to grow, establish a discovery and development support platform, and promote Cheonan's excellent startup infrastructure.

Since last September, the city has provided customized support to prospective startup founders or startups according to their growth stage through various programs such as idea hackathon, IR competition, purchase consultation, investment consultation, conference, and networking.

The 'Startup Conference', which marked the end of Stage Cheonan 2023, was held for two days from the 6th to the 7th and featured lectures and talk concerts by experts such as Woowa Brothers' creative general director Myeong-soo Han, CEO and comedian Heo Kyung-Hwan of Heo Dak, and Kim Min-cheol, CEO of Yanadu. The latest trends, knowledge information, investment trends, etc. were shared.

In addition, an award ceremony was held for the Idea Hackathon and IR Competition, which had been promoted for three months, and the AIPS team was selected as first place in the Idea Hackathon and awarded a prize of 5 million won.

In the IR competition, startup FarmConnect (CEO Mu-hyun Kim) won the grand prize and was honored with 100 million won in commercialization support.

In the final ranking of the IR contest, startup Lina Solution (CEO Hyeong-min Hyung), which attracted the highest amount of simulated investment from investors, won a special award (Minister of SMEs and Startups Award).

In Rechallenge Partners, which promoted the resurgence of startup companies that had experienced closure, Cheonnyeonsikhyang (CEO Baek-rin Ahn) and J2K (CEO Ji-soo Kim) were finally selected and each received 10 million won in commercialization funds.

The city plans to provide a total of 260 million won in commercialization support only to the nine promising startups selected through the IR contest that settle in Cheonan.

In addition, startups that participate and are selected for Stage Cheonan will be provided with various follow-up support such as payment of commercialization funds, support for global expansion, provision of childcare space, and continuous consulting to provide a foundation for corporate growth and actively support them to utilize Cheonan City's startup infrastructure. It is a policy.

Mayor Sang-don Park said, “I am happy to have successfully completed ‘Stage Cheonan 2023’ by discovering 9 promising startups and matching 177 consultations with a consultation amount of KRW 26.3 billion.” He added, “We will continue to discover competent startups and work with the region. “We will create a good environment for starting a business so that we can grow together.”
